August 15, 1936 – March 12, 2025With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria de la Luz Colmenares on March 12, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 88. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, strength, and wisdom.

Born on August 15, 1936, Maria de la Luz lived a life full of love and dedication to her family. She was known for her warm heart, unwavering support, and the way she always put others before herself. In her younger years, she worked as a talented hairdresser, bringing beauty and confidence to those around her. She was also a gifted artist, expressing herself through drawing, sculpting with clay, and crafting intricate animals and insects out of wire. Her creativity and passion were reflected in everything she did.Maria de la Luz was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodolfo Lucero Ruiz, and her son, Carlos Mariano, whom she loved dearly. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her children Soledad, Gerardo, Alejandra, and Rebecca; her grandchildren Carlos José, Mariana, Karla, Carlos Efraín, Sabrina, David, Desireé, Celeste, Antonio, Alma, and Angel; and many great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on March 21 at 12 p.m. at Adair's Carroon Mortuary, 1191 N. Grand Avenue, Nogales, Arizona.Though she may no longer be with us in person, her love, creativity, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is now reunited with Rodolfo resting in eternal peace.
