Laura H Hathaway

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Hill Hathaway. Laura was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She entered heaven on December 26, 2024, at the age of 91. 

Born on April 22, 1933, in Alpine, Texas, to Earl and Mable Hill, Laura was a pillar of strength and kindness throughout her life. She and her highschool sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Hathaway, were married for 70 years. Laura is survived by her children, Diane Hathaway Landis (Dick), Mary Hathaway Goldey (widowed), Evangeline Hathaway Bozzuto (widowed), and Robert William Hathaway (Diana). Additionally, there are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Paul Hathaway, her sister-in-law Carolyn Hathaway, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob, and daughter, Rosalie Hathaway. 

After raising her five children, and supporting her rancher and politician husband, she became a successful stockbroker at age 50. Her faith in GOD was an inspiration and she credited all of her success to GOD. She was truly a woman of virtuous and noble character. Her life embodied the Proverbs 31 woman. 

Laura with her many talents, hand-drew the blueprints for the complete redesign of the family ranch, which has many of her own beautiful paintings adorning her home, a place of comfort and love. 

Laura's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, hard work, and unwavering dedication to her family. She touched the lives of many with her generosity, kindness, and wisdom. She will be missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Nogales on Saturday, January 4th at 11:00 to be followed immediately by the graveside service.
